Blue Ribbon School
On September 22, 2006, we received the official announcement from the U.S. Department of Education, under U.S. Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings, that STM Catholic had been named a 2006 No Child Left Behind-Blue Ribbon School.
The No Child Left Behind-Blue Ribbon Schools Program honors public and private K-12 schools that are either academically superior and/or demonstrate dramatic gains in student achievement. With ITBS scores in the top 10% of the nation and a core foreign language program in the upper grades, STM Catholic met the criteria to be considered for this honor.
STM Catholic is the first school under the direction of the Office of Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of Denver to receive Blue Ribbon School recognition. This official recognition is the highest honor afforded to K-12 schools by the U.S. Department of Education. STM Catholic is one among only 250 schools in the United States, and five in Colorado, to be recognized in 2006.
