Week at a Glance:
Math-We will begin fractions; comparing and ordering two or more fractions; identify fractions that name more than one equal part of a whole; review and prepare for a test on Chapter 12-Fractions on Thursday.
Open Court-we are currently blending words s; ce; ci; cy; j; ge; gi; identifying commas and how to use them in sentences; reading “Langston Times,” while building fluency; comparing and contrasting information in a text; reviewing Fact and Opinion; Compare and Contrast; applying comprehensive strategies; Asking and Answering Questions and Making Connections; investigating Main Ideas and Details; continuing to set writer’s goals for personal narratives, giving and receiving feedback about their drafts, and evaluating personal narratives as well as daily work in journals.
Religion– we will learn about Advent; make an Advent wreath; Bible readings; Virtue: Purity-St. Dominic Savio
Science-Start Chapter 6-Earth’s Resources; explain what minerals are and how they are used; describe what kinds of things make up soil; explain how soil is formed; describe how people use natural resources; explain why people should take care of earth’s resources.
