Week at a Glance:
Math-We will continue fractions both comparing and understanding; comparing and ordering two or more fractions; identify fractions that name more than one equal part of a whole; review and prepare for a test on Chapter 12-Fractions on Wednesday.
Open Court-we are currently blending words ch, th, sh, ar; identify commas and how to use them in sentences; read “Stranger and Soup,” while building fluency; applying vocabulary to new contexts; comparing and contrasting information in a text; reviewing Fact and Opinion; Compare and Contrast; applying comprehensive strategies; Asking and Answering questions and Making Connections; investigating Main ideas and Details; continuing to set writer’s goals for personal narratives; giving and receiving feedback about their drafts; revising and evaluating personal narratives; continuing daily work in journals.
Religion– we will continue to learn about Advent and the story of Christmas; Virtue: Purity-St. Dominic Savio.
Science-Continue Chapter 6-Earth’s Resources; explain what minerals are and how they are used; describe what kinds of things make up soil; explain how soil is formed; describe how people use natural resources; explain why people should take care of earth’s resources; experiment on rocks!
