Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Our spelling homework will be due this Wednesday and our spelling test will also be this Wednesday. There will be no school this Thursday and Friday due to conferences.

Week at a Glance:

Math-We will continue to tell time by using the minute hand; tell time in hours and minutes; use both a.m. and p.m. to show morning, afternoon, and night; determine how much time has passed; write the digital time to match the analog clock. Again, as we are transitioning from times tables/division, please continue to help reinforce multiplication/division concepts by reviewing multiplication/division flash cards at home. We will be coming back to multiplication and division periodically. Thank you for your continued support.

Open Court-we will continue to blend words and build oral language skills and fluency skills; sound: u, ew, and u_e. study prefixes: pre and mis; learn about possessive nouns. edit and proofread his/her informative texts; obtain a visual for informational text; produce final copies of informative texts; Read “The Green Grass Grew All Around; apply comprehensive strategies; Asking and Answering questions and Making Connections; investigate Comparisons and Contrasts; Sequence; Cause and Effects; characters; events in a story; understand the author’s purpose; set writers goals for informative texts; word and sentence dictation; and continue daily work in journals; spelling homework due Wednesday and spelling test this Wednesday.

Religion– Lesson 15: Jesus is the Bread of Life; Lesson 15 quiz on Wednesday; miracles of the loaves and fish; understand that Jesus is our Living Bread in the Sacrament of Eucharist. VIRTUE: PRUDENCE-BLESSED JUNIPERO SERRA

Social Studies-Unit 3, lesson 4 and 5; Identify changes in transportation and communication over the last one hundred years; utilize maps and globe skills to draw a map with symbols, map key, and compass rose.
