A reminder: we will be having a Second Grade Music Program on Wednesday, May 29th, from 2:00-2:50 in the small cafeteria. Please join us for this cultural, musical program!
Please remember that our Field Day will be on June 5th; class party- June 6th; and our last day of school on June 7th.
As incoming third grade students, our students will be required to purchase and have a copy of their own Pilgrims- Magic Treehouse non-fiction research guide book; and another book called Lemonade Wars by Davies. These are two books they will need for third grade.
There will be spelling homework and a spelling test this week.
Please continue to review multiplication/division flash cards with your child as well as reviewing time and money. Thank you for support!

Week at a Glance:
Math-Chapter 18 (Lines and Surfaces) We will recognize, identify, describe, count, and classify parts of lines and curves. We will explore, compare, and understand lines and surfaces.
Open Court-we will continue to blend words and build oral language and fluency skills; sound: ough; Read: One Thousand and One Arabian Nights; apply comprehensive strategies; Asking and Answering Questions and Making Connections; describe story elements; investigate comparisons and contrasts; sequence; cause and effects; characters; events in a story; understand the author’s purpose; identify fact and opinion; demonstrate understanding of language use and text features; word and sentence dictation; and continue daily work in journals.
Religion- Lesson 18-The Mass/Liturgy of the Eucharist: We review and explore all facets of the Mass to include the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
Science-Chapter 10: Changes in Matter: Continue learning about matter and how it applies to life and science; discuss and identify physical and chemical changes; observe how heat can change matter; understand how temperature affects matter; observe how solids, liquids, and gases mix; understand what happens when you try to take a mixture apart.
